Psalm 76

Psalm 76 Stand on your faith
Just as the body is not the legs or the eyes, so the Word of the Almighty is not psalms or epistles cut off from prophcy or Torah (Law). Do you know the Word of your God well enough to realize who is king of Salem (76:2... Melchizedck) or the importance of Zion?

In the reign of Judah and Israel, in the city of Salem (later, Jerusalem) on Zion, on the mountain of God, the flaming arrows were broken. Flaming arrows? Where have we heard about that?

Ephesians 6:10-20 The weapons of our warfare. We fight an unseen war, not against "flesh and blood" but against ruthless spiritual powers. It is the Almighty who broke their flaming arrows. Our job is to "stand firm" but stand on what?

Hebrews 11:1 Faith (A'men in Hebrew) means "to stand firmly on God's Word". Before Paul introduces any of our weapons, He implores us three times, "stand firm" Eph 6:11-14. Faith is the firm ground of our hope. We do what we do because we believe (also an aspect if a'men). God stops the flaming arrows, we stand with Him. 76:3b with the shield (Eph 6:16 faith), the sword (Eph 6:17 the Word of God) and the weapons of war (Eph 6:13 the full armor of God)

Psalm 76 goes on to tell us of our need of the Almighty in the days to come. The battle belongs to Him, our part is to stand with Him!

76:12 The Almighty will cut off the Prince of the power of the air (the spirit of... ) Satan will lose all access to earth. On that day, the day of reward at the White Throne, will The Almighty's testimony of you be that you were faithful? Stand firm my sister's and brothers!
