Psalm 79

What happens when the righteous fall and the beloved city is filled with death as blood flows like rivers of sorrow? Is all hope lost? Does Jerusalem come to a disgraceful end?

Yesterday's Psalm declared that the Almighty drove out the nations before his people entered in; but in this Psalm they are being over run by the nations. (78:54-55 and 79:1) What happened?
So He brought them to His holy land, to this hill country which His right hand had gained. He also drove out the nations before them, and He apportioned them for an inheritance by measurement,And made the tribes of Israel dwell in their tents.  Psalm 78:54-55
O God, the nations have invaded Thine inheritance; they have defiled Thy holy temple; they have laid Jerusalem in ruins. Psalm 79:1
Never forget that there is a war in the heavens. The Ben Elohiym (son's of God) have risen in rebellion against the Most High God. Lucifer desires to have the Almighty's throne. Does he win in the end? The short answer is NO. The full answer is too long for a post like this one.

Near the end of the battle, which began in the garden of Eden, two witnesses appear before the final temple of YHVH, dressed in sackcloth, and prophecy 1,260 days.

Even though the nation's fight to overthrow Jerusalem, they cannot do so during the days given to the witnesses. At the end of their days, the beast himself kills them, refusing to allow the burial of their bodies, just as in Psalm 79:2. But that is not the end. Three and a half days later there is a resurrection (Rev 11:11) Glory! The God of our Salvation, Y'shua, for the glory of haShem (the Name) is victorious.

The battle belongs to the LORD.
So we Thy people and the sheep of Thy pasture will give thanks to Thee forever; to all generations we will tell of Thy praise. 79:13
Why not praise Him now? In the midst of the darkest day, we who belong to the Almighty are not defeated no matter what our circumstances.
